HORIZONTAL FALL
2022
Inspired by The Orphic Trilogy (the Blood of a Poet, Orpheus and the Testament of Orpheus) by Jean Cocteau, Horizontal Fall collection explores jewellery that draws the discourse to the ethereal where symbols communicate with the unseen. Pentagrams, watery chains and mirrors speak the language of dreams connecting the physical body to the intangible.
Exploring the act of falling asleep in order to be awaken, it exposes how the strength of the body is incredibly powerful through intuition, the silent understanding without conscious reasoning.
Introducing Jean Cocteau’s characters in the form of jewellery: the artist Orpheus going on a journey guided by Eurydice, Cegeste and Heurtbise.

The pieces were developed in tandem with the sisters Maria Carlos and Inês Manuel Baptista AW22/23 - the 2 collections establish a dialogue that explores the body and its strength from a female perspective, tuning the muscle in with the new era.

Made in collaboration with Maria Carlos Baptista and Inês Manuel Baptista for the designers’ POWER INTO SUBMISSION AW22/23. The collection was shown at Porto Fashion Week in Alfândega do Porto and at Andalucía Fashion Week.
